Event Sales Manager


The Events Manager is responsible for booking and detailing events. The candidate can function and execute private dining events using organization skills and customer service. Overall responsibilities include, responding to inquiries, customer satisfaction, as well as administrative tasks associated with client relations, client retention and sales. This person serves as the liaison between the client and the venue to ensure a high level of customer service.



  • Respond to all inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Create outside sales leads in Gather.
  • Create bookings for all events in Gather with appropriate financial information.
  • Create custom menu proposals for all clients, with detailed information.
  • Review staffing needs before EOC sends to management.
  • Review final staffing once posted to make sure they are accurate.
  • Schedule and attend tastings with clients.
  • Schedule and attend site tours and final walk throughs with clients.
  • Update venue reports for weekly meetings.
  • Attend Manager/Leadership meetings at all venues.
  • Attend monthly event sales meeting.
  • Responsible for effective contract management.
  • Continually fosters relationships with current and new clients.
  • Ensure client folder has been created and all financials are reported in a timely manner.
  • Assists in the event menu development process.
  • Pre-Production.
  • Create & review room diagrams for each event based on client/venue needs.
  • Request off menu/alternate site, special orders requests with BOH and FOH (and confirm prep details and delivery arrangements if necessary).
  • Follow up with FOH and BOH management to ensure all custom orders/beverage requests have been accommodated.
  • Attend BEO meetings at all venues.
  • Ensures all required elements are scheduled, ordered, and communicated with team.

Event Service:

  • Be on-site or coordinate alternate contact to greet all clients prior to event start.
  • For large scale events, be on site for all setup (room set, greeting of client, initial portion of event).
  • Ensure set is to client's expectations.
  • Attend and participate in pre-shift.
  • Assumes responsibility for execution of events, communicates all request of the client in an effective and sensitive manner.


  • Review and remedy any discrepancies with event close out numbers in Gather (overcharges, miscalculations with service charge, deposits, profit etc).
  • Follow up with all clients upon conclusion. Send email thank you and final copy of receipt.

  • Firm understanding of daily venue operations
  • Strong problem solving skills, understands trends, and develops thoughtful recommendations
  • Comfortable rolling up your sleeves to get things done and the next moment delegating tasks to staff
  • Great communication skills and understands how to communicate during chaotic events
  • Sound judgement, discretion, flexibility, and integrity
  • Self-starter, self-motivated; ability to operate with a sense of urgency and work independently
  • Ability to accommodate a schedule based on volume
  • Positive attitude, ability to work well in a team environment
  • Extensive knowledge of the market
